When you press the knob at the front, the spark comes up the gas comes on but when you release the knob the gas goes off. Most likely, it is a thermocouple issue.

My stovetop is the only gas appliance left in my house and the daily connection charge is astronomical. However, I like cooking with gas and do not want an electric stovetop. Our stovetop is designed for both LNG and LPG and includes instructions for how to connect it to an LPG connection. We specifically purchased it with this eventually in mind. I need the LNG connection sealed off and replaced with an LPG connection to a nearby external location where the tank will be stored.
